¡FELICIDADES, FAMILIAS!

CONGRATULATIONS, FAMILIES!

May 15th is International Family Day. Today we're talking about different family units and fun ways to celebrate your day.

May 15th is one of our favorite days: we celebrate International Family Day and, with this commemoration, we raise awareness of the fundamental role that all family members play in educating, shaping, and contributing to creating better human beings. In recent times, this day has also served to raise awareness of the different types of families that exist, giving visibility to different units created with the same objective: to share love.

Because affection and attachment are much more powerful than blood ties, families have adapted to social changes in recent decades and have become colorful. What types of families do we find?

-          The nuclear family: made up of a father, a mother, and child/children.

-          Two-parent family: those who do not have children.

-          Homoparental family: made up of a homosexual couple with one or more children.

-          Reconstituted or blended family: this is formed by merging several two-parent families after a divorce. That is, children live with one of their parents and their new partner, who may also have their own children.

-          Single-parent family: made up of a single adult with children.

-          Foster family: the distinguishing feature is temporality, as it involves couples or individuals who temporarily take in children until they can return to their families of origin or find a permanent home.

-          Adoptive families: consist of a couple or adult with adopted children who, despite not being blood relatives, act as biological ones.

-          Extended family: occurs when several family members live together in the same home (grandparents, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces...)

So many ways to unite to give and receive love, right? Many types of families, but all of them share the desire to share and enjoy. In homes with children, they always play a special role. That's why we propose some fun plans to celebrate Family Day:

-          Make a family album: print your favorite photos and create your family album. That summer, last year's trip, a birthday... remember the most special moments and you'll enjoy them more often.

-          Play in the park: sometimes the simplest, most obvious thing is the most successful. The perfect plan for our little ones is to be able to run, jump, and interact outdoors. So now you know, visit the nearest park.

-          Naturally: the mountains, the beach, the lake... combine these settings with bikes and a picnic lunch, and you've created the perfect plan.

And you, how will you celebrate Family Day? We'd love to hear from you!
