Welcome, August. If there's one thing this month doesn't lack, it's the summer sun, and if there's one thing we can't forget on our outings with children, it's sunscreen because, whatever plans you make, we're sure you're going to need it. But do you know when you should apply it? What type is most suitable for each skin type? How often do I need to reapply it? Pay attention to these tips and advice, which will surely be very useful:
- You should use broad-spectrum sunscreen, which means it also protects against UVA rays.
- Always use factor 50. Apply the cream at least half an hour before sun exposure and don't forget it even if the child is in the shade.

- If the little ones are under 6 months old, it is very important that they are not directly exposed to the sun to avoid damaging their melanin.
- To each their own. We should buy sunscreens specifically for children. It is recommended to check the label to ensure that the cream is as natural as possible and does not contain additives that could cause allergies or irritations.
- At midday, go home! Avoid the central hours of sun. Between eleven in the morning and four in the afternoon, it is advisable to avoid sun exposure and increase hydration.

- Don't forget the ears, nose, insteps of the feet, and hands! These areas also get burned and we often overlook them.
- Every two hours, reapply the cream. Children get wet, run, sweat, get covered in sand… that's why we shouldn't leave too much time between applications of cream.
- Protect their eyes too. A lot is said about creams, and sometimes we forget about sunglasses for the little ones. Children's eyes are more sensitive, and it's advisable to keep them protected to avoid any eye problems.
- Hydration in all its forms. To have nourished skin, it's important to nourish it from the inside. How do we achieve this? Always carry a bottle of water, but you can also complement it with ice pops or fresh fruit, which will help nourish and hydrate at the same time.
Now we are ready to enjoy all the plans that August brings! And you, how will you enjoy the sun?
