You can feel it: the days are getting longer, the sun is warmer, coats are staying on the rack, and children are eager to get out of the house. It's that time of year when, if we pay attention, our bodies crave movement. And they, more than anyone, feel it.
And here's a simple idea: let's take advantage of it.
Good weather is the best ally to rediscover what's essential: real play, the kind experienced with the body, with all five senses, and without "click" buttons.
At Injusa, we're clear about one thing: when a child plays outdoors, they gain health, autonomy, and joy. But sometimes, between work, fatigue, and routines, we don't know where to start.
So here are some ideas to help you get out, move, and reconnect as a family, without having to overcomplicate things:
1. Turn everyday activities into playtime
Going for bread? Let them take it on their ride-on toy. Time to take out the trash? Let them turn it into a mission on their motorbike. Small daily tasks can be the perfect excuse for them to move, participate, and have fun.
2. Create a play space near home
You don't need a garden. A clear hallway, a terrace, or the plaza downstairs can be a great circuit. Bring their quad, bike, or anything with wheels, and let them invent their own route. No need to set up anything complicated: free play does the rest.
3. Make "outside" part of the routine
Don't wait for the weekend. Take advantage of the longer days so that, even if it's for half an hour, they go out and move after school. And if you can accompany them, even better. A walk together, a challenge ("how many laps can you do without stopping?"), or simply being there while they play adds a lot.
4. Less "be careful" and more "I'm watching you"
Let them try, climb, run, explore. Being there isn't stopping them; it's accompanying them. The outdoors gives them space, but you give them security.
What we mean is simple: now that the days are getting longer, take the opportunity to lengthen their memories too.
You don't have to do big things. Just open the door.
And let them play again. Like before. Like always.
