April 26, 2020 is a day that will remain etched in the minds of all of us who witnessed the world come to a halt in March and how COVID forced us to change our routines and way of life. The little ones showed exemplary behavior during the lockdown and used all their creativity to transform every corner into a castle, a race track, or an impromptu classroom. Thanks to them, homes were filled with smiles, laughter, and color. April 26 was the first day we were able to go outside. With caution, masks, and social distancing, yet that day the streets once again filled with laughter, tiny steps, and jumps: children left their homes.
It is an important date for everyone. On that day, after 42 days of confinement, children were finally able to go outside. That's why companies like ours have joined the initiative of the Spanish Association of Toy Manufacturers to have this day declared as Children's Day. In these weeks of uncertainty, the adaptability of children was highlighted, and the significant role that play and toys have on both physical and psychological levels was also recognized. Dinosaurs, ride-on toys, motorcycles, dolls, and colorful paints were essential companions for the little ones at home to better cope with a strange environment where everything had changed. However, if there was one thing that remained intact, it was their desire to play, their creativity, and their ability to build 1001 worlds.
Therefore, this day is established to recognize the exemplary behavior that our children have shown throughout these COVID months. For their effort, for their tenacity, involvement, and commitment, but above all, for persevering, adapting, smiling, and bringing light, hope, and optimism to everyone around them.
