It allows them to explore, socialize, and enjoy nature. However, it requires more attention from us, especially when they are younger. It's important to take precautions to ensure children's safety while they play. So, below we share some tips that will help you keep your gardens and outdoor areas safer. Adequate supervision: It seems obvious, but it is essential. Adult supervision is crucial for safe play (especially when they are very young). Take extra precautions if you have a pool or construction areas. Supervision will allow you to detect potential risks and respond quickly in an emergency.

Check toys: especially at the beginning of summer. Sometimes they have been in storage for months, and it is essential to check that they are in perfect condition to start the season again. Check that they are not broken, splintered, or missing parts. It's a good idea to do this check several times throughout the summer.

Safe play area: We know that little ones go straight for danger. That's why we recommend having a safe play area that you can enclose with a fence. This way, you'll keep children away from the pool area or areas where you store garden tools.

Sun protection: This will be one of the tasks you repeat several times a day. When the little ones play outdoors, make sure to protect children from the sun's rays. Apply sunscreen to their skin, choose play times when the sun is not too strong (generally before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m.), and provide shade with umbrellas or awnings.

Road safety: It's never too early to start road safety lessons. If your little ones use bikes, tricycles, or electric vehicles near busy areas, teach them basic road safety rules. Looking both ways before crossing, respecting traffic lights, and wearing a reflective vest in the evenings can be basic issues that will make a difference.

Bugs: It is essential that children respect animals, but they also need to be taught about the natural dangers they may encounter outdoors. Wasps, bees, grass seeds... it's important for them to learn to identify them and interact with them respectfully.
