Beach days are coming, which is why we're bringing you some foolproof tips that will make your beach days with children much more pleasant

Heads up, beach days are coming! We're starting to dust off umbrellas, prepare towels, get out buckets and spades, buy sunscreen... but doesn't this look like it's going to turn into a full-blown water adventure? So, to make this adventure something fun for the whole family and not a nerve-wracking challenge for adults, we're sharing some tips and tricks that will make your beach days more pleasant. With kids, we know we won't be able to relax and read a book, but we're sure we can find a happy medium:

WRISTBANDS WITH NAMES: The beach is usually crowded, and even if we keep a close eye on our children, they can get disoriented if we look away for just a second. The solution? Put plastic wristbands on them with your phone number. That way, if someone sees a child who is lost, they can call you quickly so you can find them.

PLENTY OF SUNSCREEN: Half an hour before sun exposure, apply water-resistant SPF 50 sunscreen, and reapply every two hours.

HYDRATION: Water, water, and more water. Kids spend all day running and playing in the sun, so it's very important that they stay hydrated. You can freeze half a plastic bottle and, before leaving home, fill the other half with room-temperature water. This way, the cool water will last much longer and be more appealing. If you're having an afternoon snack or lunch at the beach, you can also opt for fruits with high water content like melon and watermelon. They'll have a tasty, healthy snack with plenty of water.

BYE, BYE SUN: Avoid the middle of the day. It's advisable to go to the beach first thing in the morning or in the mid-afternoon. Even so, your beach kit must include an umbrella so the little ones can take shelter from the sun from time to time.

ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION: Prepare a plastic bag to collect any waste you generate during your beach day. This way, the little ones will get used to respecting and caring for nature, and together, we will reduce the waste we generate.
