Children have a right to play. And not just because it's their time for recreation where they unleash their imagination, but also because it strongly contributes to their physical and psychological development.
Playing will help our little ones improve their motor skills, balance, coordination, contribute to their muscle development, and they will be able to better understand everything around them. Additionally, it will help them improve their social skills and interact with other children.

However, there are some aspects you, as an adult, will need to consider to help you select the most suitable toys and ensure that their use is safe and healthy. What items should you keep in mind?
- Always buy toys adapted to their age. This will allow the child to fully enjoy their play without frustration and assimilate its benefits at the appropriate time, when they are truly ready. Furthermore, especially for younger children, it is important to ensure that toys are suitable for children under 3 years old so that they do not contain small parts that could be ingested.
- Observe and discover. When you watch your child play without adult intervention, you can find out what interests them, what skills they have, and how they usually behave with others.
- Certifications are very important. Check that the toy has the European certifications that endorse and guarantee it is a safe product.
- End gender inequality. Don't get stuck in what we have understood until now as boys' or girls' toys; children can enjoy and learn with all types of toys regardless of their gender. If we apply this breaking of schemes in the new generations, we will surely take a big step towards change.
Play is a right of the little ones, and we must ensure that they can play safely and develop their full potential. What do you ask for in a good afternoon of play?
